The staff were very friendly. The store closes at 7:00 pm but if you ask one of the wardens nicely they can usually get you wood or other essentials. Great bike trail through the bird sanctuary to Upper Canada Village and beyond. Lots of other great places to camp nearby like Long Sault and UC Bird Sanctuary so if there are no choice spots left, you have options close by.

Stayed here last may for several days and was very pleased with the park. As we travelled from the maritimes and spent nearly the whole month in ontario this was to be our last stop before heading home. We stayed at six different rv parks during our trip to ontario and they were all pretty much equally well run by great staff, Farran park included. We met none of these terrible staff during this trip and I am at a loss hearing these terrible reviews. Certainly here in the maritimes we don't have staff like those mentioned. I hope they're found and fired before we return to your beautiful province. For the staff we met thanks for a wonderful stay.

Moments upon arriving to visit loved ones were were greeted by a "park ranger". At the time we were walking with our well behaved dog and the first words out of his mouth were "I can't even tell you how illegal it is to have that dog off a leash". I'm not clear on the legal side of this issue but I'm fairly certain that that's an overreaction considering we had a leash on hand ready to go. Is it as illegal as punching an orphan? Or murder? I don't know because the ranger couldn't explain how illegal it was. I will never know because this fine officer of the law didn't share his wealth of knowledge with my uneducated criminal self. People at every campsite complained about him which was shocking to me considering how well this P.O.W. camp seemed to be run......

Never again will my family camp at Farran Campsite. We have went there for the past 10 years and the disrespect we were treated with was disgusting. We went with our family, my friend and her daughter and another friend. It started yesterday, my children were fishing with a few other children on the small docks at the edge of the park near our site. 2 female park workers came and We were told to get off the dock and fish elsewhere as it was for Seasonal campers only. The only ones fishing were the kids. We tried explaining that this was the only place in the park safe enough for the children to fish and catch something as my husband and I tried several areas and nothing was biting. We were still told to move. My husband started having a panic attack at the thought of the children climbing the rocks to go fishing and were threatened to be Evicted from the park. I explained he was not angry but having an attack and they were rude and I asked for a manager. The manager came and I calmly explained what was happening when finally they said the kids could fish but to move if seasonal people needed to use it and we agreed. The rest of the day was uneventful. During the night the storm woke us (after 2 hours of sleep) just in time to get the kids out of the tent before it collapsed on my husband and friend. I ran and hid with the kids in the bathroom while my husband and friends grabbed what they could and loaded the car. I had to work 1st thing this morning at 9 so my husband took me and our three kids home. Our friends stayed behind as we could only fit 5 in the car and there was 8 of us. My husband had to make 4 trips through the night in the storm to get everyone and everything home safely. He finally got home after almost hitting a deer and driving 30km/ph in blinding rain to do it. He then took me to work. He needed sleep. He picked me up at work at 2pm. My phone was flooded with calls from Farrens because my husband did not take the collapsed tent home/to the garbage. I told them I had just gotten off work and explained our night to them. I asked if they could just throw it out. The told me if I didn't come get it I would be fined for leaving garbage. So we again got in our car and drove there. After taking down our tent they proceeded to hand us an eviction notice from St Lawrence park for 1 year for coming past checkout. I am absolutely disgusted.

"Park ranger" Bob is a murderer of fun. He takes his job way too seriously and acts like an OPP officer. I watched 3 different people get harassed for minor things that cause no harm or inconvenience to others. Maybe if Bob removed the large spiney branch from his rectum he would have an actual position in law enforcement instead of a job where he spends his days bullying innocent campers.
